The book “Chemistry and Synthesis of Polymers” written by Yasamin Bide, PhD graduate of Shahid Beheshti University (SBU) and assistant professor of Scientific and Industrial Research Organization of Iran, Mojtaba Mahyari, PhD graduate of SBU and assistant professor of Malik Ashtar University of Technology in Tehran, Maryam Abu Ali, a master's graduate at SBU and a PhD student at Tabriz University, and Mohammad Reza Nabid, professor of the Faculty of Chemistry and Petroleum Sciences of SBU has been published recently by SBU Press in 410 pages.
The current century is the century of polymer flourishing and its application in advanced industries. Polymers are an important family of materials without which many of today's technologies such as biological, nano, aerospace, self-healing coatings, and many other technologies cannot develop and progress.
Every year, more than 5.2 million patents are registered in the field of polymer in the world and millions of scientific articles are published, which are the answer to many challenges and needs of today. It can be said with certainty that today's society will not be able to progress and develop without the knowledge and benefit of polymer science. Various fields of industries are considered leaders in the use of polymer innovations, including aerospace and transportation industries (use of composites and engineering polymers), packaging industries (use of smart packaging and increased shelf life of food), medicine (production of artificial organs, prostheses, etc.), controlled and targeted release of drugs, etc.), agriculture, energy (solar cells, insulation of industrial and residential spaces), etc.
The present book is a comprehensive guide that explains in eight chapters topics such as the principles and basics of polymers, stage, chain and living polymerization, inorganic and partially inorganic polymers, reaction control in polymerization, and dendrimers and identification of polymers to let the reader get to know the world of polymer and get a deeper understanding of its features, manufacturing methods and applications. The book is useful and practical for students of chemistry, polymer engineering, material engineering, and those interested in polymer science.
To buy this book, students and interested parties can go to the sales office of SBU Scientific Works Publishing Center, located in the Information Technology (IT) building, ground floor, or order online through the center's website.
